Storia is a thoughtfully designed mid-rise condominium development nestled in the heart of Burnaby Heights, at Hastings Street and Rosser Avenue in Burnaby, British Columbia. This low-rise building offers 39 well-crafted homes, ranging from one-bedroom-plus-den to three-bedroom-plus-den, arranged over five storeys, with ground-level retail space that connects residents with the vibrant, walkable neighbourhood. Thanks to its elevated, south-facing position on the crest of the hill, Storia provides residents with sweeping city-to-mountain views, and complements the historic, community-oriented character of the Heights
The Scope
For Storia, Sky Windows was engaged to deliver all major exterior-glass work: exterior glass storefront, aluminum doors for the ground-level commercial spaces, and a glass canopy. The glazing design had to accommodate a low-rise wood-frame building envelope while delivering a modern, clean architectural expression that integrates with the retail frontage and pedestrian-friendly street context of Burnaby Heights. The storefront and canopy system supports both the residential above and the retail amenity below, ensuring durability and visual clarity in a mixed-use setting.
The Outcome
Completed in 2021, Storia now stands as a boutique, five-storey mid-rise blending residential comfort with neighbourhood-scale retail, enhancing the local community fabric of Burnaby Heights. The glazing and storefront work by Sky Windows contributed to a refined building envelope that supports both aesthetic appeal and functional durability, enabling a building that respects the context of the Heights while delivering quality homes and retail spaces.
