Project Intro

The Oakridge Centre Redevelopment is one of the most significant developments in Vancouver, set to double the size of the existing mall to 1.4 million square feet while introducing over 2,900 residential units in 13 towers, 300,000 square feet of commercial office space, and a 70,000-square-foot civic centre. Sky Windows is contributing glazing systems across various parts of the development, with a focus on pedestrian concourses, public gathering areas, and key design elements.

The Scope

Sky Windows is delivering a wide range of glazing systems for the Oakridge Centre Redevelopment, focusing on key architectural and public-facing elements throughout the site. The scope includes curtain walls and entry glazing for the parkade, laminated glass balustrades and guardrails along pedestrian concourses and escalators, and distinctive glass detailing at architectural features such as the “Life Tree.” The team is also supplying and installing curved guardrails using base shoe systems and stainless steel standoffs, along with smoke baffles to support smoke control in interior concourse areas. In addition, Sky Windows is fabricating and installing fully custom, curved curtain wall glazing for the development’s “valet lounges”—a solution tailored specifically to meet the project’s unique architectural vision.

The Outcome

Installation is ongoing, but Sky Windows’ scope reflects the company’s ability to handle challenging designs and complex logistics on major urban developments. The work integrates advanced safety features and visual cohesion using custom solutions—contributing to a landmark cultural and residential space for Vancouver.
