Modern Self-Storage and High-Capacity Auto Wash Hub in South Surrey
The Nationwide facility combines self-storage with a fully automated express car wash capable of washing, waxing, shining and drying up to 85 cars per hour. The three-storey complex features modern design, integrated security, smart-access storage, and a drive-thru wash tunnel, serving both local residents and commuters along a major retail corridor. This development stands out as a convenience-oriented, mixed-purpose facility that addresses storage needs and high-throughput vehicle cleaning in a single location.
The Scope
For this project, Sky Windows was contracted to deliver the full commercial glazing and glasswork package. Their scope included aluminum curtain walls and doors for the building exterior, offices, and stair entries; automatic door operators for the storage building; sliding glass entries (Assa Abloy) for storage and office areas; and a complete spider-glass wall system with black silicone joints enclosing the car-wash tunnel. The glazing system had to accommodate both storage and auto-wash functions, ensuring robust durability and weather resistance, while delivering a clean, modern aesthetic and structural integrity for high-use traffic, including exposure to water, chemicals, and frequent loading.
The Outcome
Completed in October 2023, the Nationwide Express Auto Wash Surrey facility is now fully operational. The glazing and glass-work delivered by Sky Windows support a high-capacity, efficient car-wash operation along with secure, climate-resilient self-storage and office spaces. The result is a striking, functional building envelope that supports both everyday storage use and industrial-scale auto-wash throughput, providing a reliable, modern amenity to South Surrey’s residents and commuters.
