Jumar is a vibrant, mixed-use development located in downtown Squamish, BC, combining 101 residential units with over 17,000 square feet of commercial retail space and a daycare, all designed to integrate seamlessly into the pedestrian-oriented fabric of the town. The location offers an ideal blend of nature and urban convenience: a 45-minute drive south to Vancouver’s urban core and a 35-minute drive north to Whistler Blackcomb, making it especially attractive to active families and professionals who value both lifestyle and accessibility.

The Challenge
As a mixed-use building with residential, retail and daycare components, Jumar required a glazing solution that would meet diverse operational needs: secure and inviting street-level storefronts for retail tenants, transparent and durable exterior façade for residential levels, functional entrances, and thoughtful canopy design to support the building’s aesthetic and practical demands. Additionally, the glazing needed to align with the building’s design intent, which reflects the local mountain-inspired architecture and community-oriented streetscape.
The Solution
Sky Windows was engaged to deliver the glazing scope for Jumar, including exterior curtain walls, interior storefronts, aluminum and frameless glass doors, and glass canopies. Their work provided a clean, modern glazing system that enhances transparency and light while meeting the mixed-use requirements of retail, residential, and community space. The curtain wall and storefront installations support the building’s mountain-town aesthetic while offering durability and performance suitable for the local climate and mixed occupancy.
The Outcome
The glazing installation contributed to the successful completion of the Jumar development, enabling a high-quality mixed-use environment that blends residential living with retail and community amenities. The project was completed in December 2020. With 101 residential units, commercial retail on the lower levels, a daycare, and a thoughtfully glazed façade, Jumar stands as a fully realized example of integrated, community-oriented development in downtown Squamish.
