Jericho is a sweeping, multi-phase master-planned community being developed by Essence Properties in the Willoughby/Willowbrook area of Langley, British Columbia. The development is designed to transform the area into a vibrant, walkable urban hub. Over 2,000 new homes (condos, townhomes, garden homes, and possibly high-rise towers in later phases), extensive retail/commercial space, public amenities, green space, and community gathering areas are planned. The goal is to create a complete “live-work-play” community where residents enjoy convenience, connection, and a high quality of life.
The Scope
For Jericho, Sky Windows was selected to provide the glazing and exterior-glass package across the project’s low-rise residential buildings and commercial spaces. While the developer’s public materials do not detail every glazing product, the overall façade design emphasizes abundant glass and transparency to maximize natural light, in line with the West-Coast-inspired architectural aesthetic that combines brick, siding, wood-look finishes, and expansive glazing. The glazing scope supports mixed-use demands: residential units, garden homes, ground-floor commercial/retail units, and shared amenity spaces, requiring a versatile, durable, weather-resistant glass and aluminum system that suits the wood-frame low-rise buildings typical of Phase 1.
The Outcome
Once completed (slated for 2027) the community will offer residents a blend of modern housing, shared amenities (gym, multi-purpose room, social lounge, rooftop decks, pet-friendly courtyards), and retail/restaurant access, delivering on the vision of a fully integrated urban neighborhood. The glazing work by Sky Windows contributes to the development’s aesthetic, performance, and long-term livability, helping ensure bright, durable, and cohesive building envelopes across the community.
